Magen David: scholars have not been able to find a link between the Star of David and King David. One of the earliest known uses of the star (hexagon) is in an eighth century synagogue frieze in Capernaum (Israel). Only in the last two hundred years has the star been widely recognized as a sign of Judaism and the Jewish people. (National symbol of Israel). One of its ancient uses was as a magical Kabbalistic symbol.
